Could Not Complete Network Copy For File Vmfsvolumes Windows 7 Machine ManagingI have also tried copying over the network from a windows 7 machine managing the copy.
Use Microsoft Rich Copy, it works perfectly and you can pause and resume it. That way if the file upload fails I can just pick it up where it left off. I have run into problems with files that are over several hundred GB getting a file handle reset using the file shares, but 40GB should not be an issue at all. This wont help you, but the TCPIP stack and CIFS on Server 2003 is horribly limited. Server rewrote the stack and now I can achieve 99 utilization on a GB adapter when transferring files (120MBps). Actually, I just noticed that you are apparently not going over the network, but just doing a local copy. Again, post the errors you are getting, but it would seem you have a driver issue. Could Not Complete Network Copy For File Vmfsvolumes Upgrade As WellPaul since it is a local copy and a live file server for all our employees I cant do a driver upgrade, that being said the drivers are from this spring and the firmware was upgrade as well. Of course, if you plug a 500GB USB drive and are able to copy your file, you can be pretty sure the problem is with your new array or with the driversfirmware, so might be worth trying. Basically 40GB is so small by todays standards that I think it must be a fundamental driver issue. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. Depending on the configuration of your system, you may also have to change the second setting. If that does not work, you must change the behavior of your backup program to reduce the demand of paged pool. If the value works, you may want to increase the value by approximately 25 percent until the backup does not work. If the backup is unsuccessful, use the second registry setting that is described in this article. Because of this situation, Microsoft recommends that you test low values first.
